About the journal
Useful guidance. Clear sources.
How we prepare, update and take responsibility for the guides on this website.

Who publishes the guides
The Remote Pharmacist editorial team publishes this journal for pharmacy owners, superintendents and teams considering clinical services and consultation technology. Remote Pharmacist is also a supplier of consultation technology. Articles may explain where our product could be relevant; this commercial interest does not make a service delivery model eligible for NHS payment.
How the content is prepared
We check factual claims against the sources linked in each article. Guides are published by the Remote Pharmacist editorial team, with their sources, geographical scope and review dates clearly identified. Any independent clinical review would be identified separately.
A “sources checked” date records when the listed material was consulted. It is not a claim that a clinician or regulator has approved the article, platform or operating model.
Sources and geographical scope
For NHS funding and service requirements, we prioritise current NHS England specifications, the NHSBSA Drug Tariff, government publications and Community Pharmacy England guidance. We distinguish service fees from medicine reimbursement, announced changes from operational services, and national schemes from local contracts. Our Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework guides concern England; other UK nations have different arrangements.
Dates and updates
Every guide shows its original publication date and, where applicable, its latest substantive update. New articles use their actual publication date, including when they discuss earlier funding changes. We preserve the original date of existing guides. A website rebuild alone does not change an article’s update date.
Time-sensitive articles enter a review queue after 90 days, or sooner if an official change is identified. Until a guide is updated, its source-check date remains visible. The linked current specification and Drug Tariff take precedence over our summary.
Examples and images
Worked examples identify their assumptions. They are planning illustrations, not customer results, guaranteed income or evidence of clinical outcomes. Terminal images illustrate the consultation model; hardware configurations can vary.
What the guides cannot decide
These are service-planning and business guides. They are not patient-specific clinical advice and do not determine whether a particular pharmacy, pharmacist, employment arrangement or remote service model satisfies a contract. Providers must confirm service eligibility, governance, competence and clinical suitability for their own arrangement. A video terminal does not replace the on-site Responsible Pharmacist.
Corrections
If a passage is unclear, out of date or incorrect, email hello@remotepharmacist.co.uk with the article URL, the passage and the relevant source. We will check the issue and correct the article where needed. Substantive corrections receive a new update date.
